Are pop-up canopies waterproof or just water-resistant?

Pop-up canopy water protection varies:

• Water-resistant (most models): The polyester fabric sheds light to moderate rain. Seams may allow some moisture through in heavy rain. Suitable for brief showers.
• Not for heavy rain: Don't leave the canopy up in prolonged rain — water can pool on the top and cause the frame to collapse. Tilt the canopy slightly to allow drainage.
