What size carport do I need for my vehicle?
Choose your carport size based on what you need to shelter:
- Standard car: 10' x 20' minimum (allows door opening space)
- SUV or pickup truck: 12' x 20' or 12' x 24' (extra height for taller vehicles)
- Two vehicles side by side: 20' x 20' or larger
- RV, boat, or trailer: 14' x 42' with 14 ft. height clearance
Always add 2-3 feet to each dimension beyond your vehicle size for comfortable access and door opening. Consider future vehicles when choosing.
