How is a winter support bar installed, and when?

Stand the post under the roof beam at the centre of the gazebo and adjust it to length; the base plate has two holes so it can be fastened to a deck or patio. Put it up in late autumn — once the curtains and netting are off, before the first lasting snow — and take it down in spring. It is easy to install and remove, and it is sold on its own: the gazebo or solarium is not included.
