Can outdoor rugs be left outside in Canadian winters?
Most outdoor rugs from Corriveau and other brands are made from polypropylene or polyester — materials that resist moisture, mold, and UV fading. However, for Canadian winters:
Best practice: Roll up and store indoors or in a dry shed before the first snowfall
If left outdoors: They won't be destroyed, but prolonged exposure to ice, snow melt, and freeze-thaw cycles will shorten their lifespan
Cleaning: Hose down and air dry completely before storage to prevent mildew
Outdoor rugs are designed for 3-season use (spring through fall). Storing them for winter can double their useful life from 3 years to 6+ years.
