How do I keep my patio umbrella from blowing over in wind?
Use a heavy base (50+ lbs. for market, 100+ lbs. for cantilever). Close the umbrella when not in use. Don't leave open in winds over 40 km/h.
What size patio umbrella do I need for my table?
For a 4-person table: 7-8 ft. umbrella. For a 6-person table: 9-10 ft. umbrella. The umbrella should extend 2 feet beyond the table edge on all sides.
How do I choose between a market umbrella and a cantilever umbrella?
Market umbrellas go through a table hole — best for dining. Cantilever umbrellas have an offset pole — best for pool areas, lounging, and flexible positioning.
