10x12 Solariums
A 10 x 12 ft solarium adds 120 square feet to the back of the house. In this size every model is the Gazebo Penguin Florence Add-A-Room, a wall-mounted solarium that shares a wall with the house so a patio door becomes the entrance. It has a powder-coated aluminum frame, two sliding doors that open left or right, tinted polycarbonate doors and wind panels that slide to five positions, and Gazebo Penguin says it can be left up year round. It is a three-season room, not insulated living space.
Choose the roof: a polycarbonate roof with UV protection lets the daylight in (the black version has 8 mm panels), a 0.75 mm galvanized steel roof gives full shade. Need more room? See the 10 x 16 solariums, every wall-mounted solarium (Sojag's Korado comes in 10 x 10 and 10 x 13), or the freestanding models.
10x12 solarium FAQ
What fits in a 10 x 12 solarium?
It is 120 square feet — room for a table and chairs, or a couple of lounge chairs, with space to move around them. If you want a dining table and a sitting area together, look at the 10 x 16 or a freestanding 12 x 18.
Polycarbonate roof or steel roof?
Polycarbonate lets filtered daylight through, which suits plants and grey days; galvanized steel is opaque, for full shade and a cooler room in summer. The Florence 10 x 12 comes either way, with the same frame.
Does it attach to the house?
Yes. The Florence Add-A-Room is wall-mounted: one side fixes to the house wall, and a patio door opens into it. Follow the assembly manual for fixing it to the wall. If you would rather set the room apart from the house, see the freestanding solariums.
Can it stay up in winter?
Gazebo Penguin says the Florence can be left up year round and is designed to withstand rain, snow and UV rays, and asks that snow be cleared from the roof in winter. No snow-load rating is published with the listing. It is still a three-season room with no insulation — the solarium buying guide explains the difference.
