10x16 Solariums & Sunrooms
A 10 x 16 ft solarium is a real room on the back of the house: a dining table for six, or a sofa and chairs, with space to walk around them. In this size they are wall-mounted, sharing a wall with the house so that a patio door becomes the entrance; current prices are in the list below.
These are three-season rooms: aluminum frames with PVC windows and screens, not insulated, comfortable from spring to late fall, and made to stay up through the winter. The Sojag Korado 10x16 has a galvanized steel roof. The Gazebo Penguin Florence comes with a polycarbonate roof that lets daylight through or a 0.75 mm galvanized steel roof, and has two sliding doors that open left or right. Other sizes and freestanding models are in sunrooms; every attached model is in wall-mounted solariums.
10x16 sunroom FAQ
Is a 10x16 solarium a four-season room?
No. These are three-season rooms: PVC windows, no insulation and no vapour barrier. They are comfortable from spring through fall and can stay up all winter, but they are not heated living space.
Will it fit against my house?
Check which side attaches to the house on the product page, and that the wall is straight and clear of windows, vents and meters where the frame meets it, with a level deck or patio in front. Outside, the Korado measures 10′4″ by 16′8″ and the Florence 10′2″ by 15′10″.
Polycarbonate or steel roof?
Polycarbonate lets daylight in and keeps the room bright; galvanized steel is opaque, quieter in rain and cooler in full sun. The Florence comes both ways; the Korado has a steel roof.
Do I need a permit?
Usually. A wall-mounted solarium attaches to the house, so many municipalities treat it as an addition, and 160 sq ft is beyond most accessory-structure exemptions. Talk to your building department before ordering.
