Garages & Storage Shelters
Protect your vehicles, ATVs and equipment with a garage you put up yourself: fabric garages and storage shelters on steel frames (ShelterLogic ShelterCoat, ShelterTube, AutoShelter, Garage-in-a-Box) and bolt-together steel garages (Sojag Everest, Arrow Murryhill). They give cars, trucks, motorcycles and power equipment secure, weather-tight storage without the cost of a permanent concrete building.
Available in single and double vehicle sizes with roll-up or zip-up doors, side entry doors and vents. Fabric models have a galvanized or powder-coated steel frame under a waterproof polyethylene cover; steel models have galvanized steel panels that resist rust through Canadian winters. Many models are rated for snow loads and include anchoring hardware. The Roof Type filter shows one kind or the other.
Portable garage or car shelter?
A portable garage is the year-round option: ShelterLogic ShelterCoat and ShelterTube frames are wind-and-snow rated, take a heavier cover, and come in sizes up to 20 x 32 ft for two vehicles, a boat or a workshop. The Sojag Everest is a bolt-together steel garage with a rigid roof. If you only need to keep snow off one car from October to April, a lighter winter car shelter does the job for less; for an open-sided permanent structure, see our steel carports.
Popular sizes
- 12 x 20 ft — one car or SUV with shelving on one side
- 12 x 24 ft and 13 x 20 ft — full-size pickups
- 12 x 28 ft and larger — two vehicles, an RV or a boat on its trailer
Portable garage FAQ
Do I need a permit for a portable garage?
Rules differ from the temporary winter car shelter: a portable garage that stays up year-round is usually treated as an accessory building, with a size limit and setbacks, and may need a permit. Check your municipal bylaw before you order.
Can it stay up all winter?
Yes — the ShelterCoat, ShelterTube and Everest ranges are designed for year-round use in Canada. Clear heavy snow from the cover after big storms and keep the frame anchored and the cover tensioned, as the manufacturer instructions describe.
How is it delivered?
Portable garages ship flat on a pallet or in cartons by freight, with free shipping on most orders over $88*. Most carriers deliver to the curb by default and, when they offer that service, contact you to book a delivery appointment. Delivery takes about 3–15 business days from your order, depending on the distance (an estimate). Remote areas, islands and the territories can take longer. Read the ShelterLogic portable garage setup guide for the tools and time each model needs.
