10x14 Sheds

A 10 x 14 ft shed adds depth rather than width: the door wall stays 10 ft, so it fits the same side yard as a 10x12, and the extra length becomes room for a ride-on mower, a snowblower and the long tools behind them. Every shed in this size is Arrow steel: the Classic, the Select with a taller roof, the Elite in Galvalume steel, and the green Scotts Lawn Care shed.

Is a 10x14 the same as a 14x10?

The same footprint, named from a different side. Arrow names its sheds width first, so a 10x14 is 10 ft across the door wall and 14 ft deep: the Classic 10x14 measures 10′3″ wide and 13′7″ deep outside.

How much room is inside?

The Classic and Select 10x14 are 9′10″ wide by 13′2″ deep inside. The Elite is 9′10″ by 13′10″, with 7′6″ at the peak.

Which floor do I need?

Steel sheds come without a floor. The Classic and Select 10x14 take the Arrow floor frame kit on a level gravel pad; the Elite and the Scotts shed go on a concrete slab or a built wooden platform. Any of them can also be bolted straight to a slab.

Do I need a permit, and how is it anchored?

At 140 sq ft a 10 x 14 is above the permit-free size in many Canadian municipalities, and setbacks from the lot line apply at any size, so check your bylaw before ordering. Anchor it with the concrete anchor kit on a slab or the earth anchor kit in soil.
