10x12 Sheds

A 10 x 12 ft shed is where a shed becomes a small workshop: two machines side by side, a bench across the back wall and room to stand at it. These sheds are galvanized or Galvalume steel, from the Ironwood kit to the Scotts Lawn Care shed; current prices are in the list below.

Arrow's 10x12 is 10 ft across the doors and 12 ft deep. The Classic has 6′3″ of headroom at the peak, the Woodridge adds a wood-grain finish and 6′9″, and the Select and Elite reach about 7′5″, the Elite in Galvalume with a 15-year warranty. At 120 sq ft this size is at or over the permit threshold in many municipalities, so check before you order. Smaller: 8x10; larger: 12x12; floor frames and anchors: garage and shed accessories.

What fits in a 10 x 12 shed?

Two machines side by side with a walkway, a workbench across the back wall, and shelving or hooks on both sides; or a season of patio furniture and cushions. It is the smallest size where you can store and work in the same building.

How big is it inside?

The Arrow Classic 10x12 is 9′10″ wide and 11′8″ deep inside; the Elite is 11′10″ deep with 7′6″ at the peak.

Does a 10x12 need a permit?

Often. 120 sq ft is at or above the exemption in many Canadian municipalities, and setbacks from lot lines apply at any size. Check your bylaw before ordering; the building department will want the size and how the shed is anchored.

Which floor does it need?

The Classic and Select 10x12 take the Arrow floor frame kit. For the Elite, Woodridge and Ironwood, build a level wooden platform or pour a concrete pad. Anchor every steel shed with the concrete anchor kit or the earth anchor kit.
