6x8 Sheds

A 6 x 8 ft shed is the smallest size you can walk into and turn around in, which makes it the usual first shed: a mower, a snowblower tucked in for the season, a ladder along one wall and shelving on the other. The Arrow line runs from the Classic 8x6 to the Elite 8x6; current prices are in the list below.

Arrow lists these as 8x6: 8 ft wide at the doors, 6 ft deep. The Classic has sliding doors and 6′ of headroom at the peak; the Select and Elite raise that to 7′6″, and the Elite adds Galvalume steel and a 15-year warranty. What fits in a 6 x 8 shed?

A push or small self-propelled mower, a single-stage snowblower, a ladder, long-handled tools on the wall and a set of shelves. For two machines side by side, look at 8x10 or larger.

How big is it inside?

The Arrow Classic 8x6 is 7′11″ wide by 5′6″ deep inside; the Elite 8x6 is 7′10″ by 5′10″ with 7′6″ at the peak. The name is the nominal size, so walls and framing take a few inches.

Which floor do I need?

The Classic and Select 8x6 take the Arrow floor frame kit, the Elite 8x6 the Elite frame. Set the frame on a level gravel pad or bolt the shed to a concrete slab. The Resin Series has its own floor.

Do I need a permit, and how is it anchored?

At 48 sq ft a 6 x 8 is well under the size at which most Canadian municipalities start requiring a permit, but setbacks from the lot line apply, so check your bylaw. Anchor it with the concrete anchor kit or the earth anchor kit.
